How much can I earn as a driver at Cypress Truck Lines?
Pay at Cypress Truck Lines is built around strong, consistent weekly earnings.
Our regional flatbed drivers earn $1,400 to $1,800 per week with reliable miles and guaranteed weekend home time. For drivers who prefer to stay out longer, our OTR drivers earn $1,800 to $2,000 per week, with the opportunity to increase earnings by running additional weeks.
In addition to weekly pay, drivers have access to:
- Performance bonuses: Earn up to $600 quarterly for safety and performance
- Seniority bonuses: Annual bonuses from $500 to $2,500 for long-term drivers
- Tuition reimbursement: Up to $5,000 if Cypress is your first company after graduating CDL school (non-Cypress CDL School Graduates)
- 401(k) with company match: 50% match up to 6% to help you build your future

What is the home time policy?
Home time at Cypress is built around consistency and predictability.
Our regional flatbed drivers are home every weekend, guaranteed, with established Southeast freight lanes that allow for reliable schedules week after week.
For drivers who choose to run OTR, home time is every other week, with the option to stay out longer and increase earnings.
During training, home time may vary based on your assigned route and trainer, but once you are running your own truck, you can count on a schedule you can plan around.
What type of trucks do drivers operate?
Cypress Truck Lines operates a modern fleet of automatic trucks, including Peterbilt, Freightliner, and International models. All trucks are assigned to drivers.
How much tarping is required?
Approximately 90% of our loads are pre-tarped and ready to go. When tarping is required, drivers receive additional pay.

Hiring & Requirements
Do I need flatbed experience to work at Cypress Truck Lines?
No. We welcome both new and experienced CDL drivers.
If you do not have flatbed experience, Cypress provides paid flatbed training to teach you everything you need to know, including load securement, tarping, and safe flatbed operation. Training typically lasts 1 to 7 weeks, depending on your experience and progress.
If you already have flatbed experience, you may be evaluated during orientation and assigned your own truck more quickly, allowing you to start earning sooner.
We also offer a direct path for those just getting started. Cypress CDL School allows you to earn your CDL while getting paid, then transition into a full-time driving position with Cypress.
I don’t have a CDL yet. Can I still apply at Cypress Truck Lines?
You don’t need experience or a CDL to start.
Many of our drivers started the same way, with no CDL and no experience.
If you do not have a CDL, you can get started through Cypress CDL School.
Cypress CDL School allows you to earn your CDL while getting paid, with hands-on training and a direct path into a full-time driving position with Cypress Truck Lines.
Do you offer a sign-on bonus at Cypress Truck Lines?
Yes. Cypress offers sign-on bonuses based on your experience:
- $2,000 sign-on bonus with 1 year of verifiable flatbed experience
- $1,000 sign-on bonus with 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
For drivers who recently completed CDL school, we also offer:
- Tuition reimbursement up to $5,000 if Cypress is your first company after graduating (non-Cypress CDL School)

Do I need any endorsements to drive for Cypress Truck Lines?
No additional endorsements are required. However, a TWIC card may be needed for port access and can be obtained during onboarding.
I haven’t driven in a while. Can I still apply at Cypress Truck Lines?
Yes. Even if it has been years since you last drove, you may still qualify.
Drivers with a valid CDL can be eligible to apply, and depending on your experience, Cypress may provide refresher training to help you get back on the road safely and confidently.

Does Cypress Truck Lines hire owner-operators or teams?
We do not currently hire owner-operators or teams. Most of our freight is regional and does not require team driving.
Orientation & Paid Training
Where is orientation held and how long does it last?
Orientation is held at our terminals in Jacksonville, FL, Smyrna, GA, South Pittsburg, TN, and Abilene, TX. It typically lasts one full week.
Is transportation provided to orientation?
Yes. If you live more than 50 miles from the terminal, we can provide transportation to orientation.
Is lodging provided during orientation?
Yes. Lodging is provided for drivers who live more than 50 miles from the terminal. Meals are not included.
How much do I get paid during orientation and training?
Drivers are paid $100 per day during orientation, up to $500 per week.
During training, experienced drivers can earn up to $1,000 per week. Pay is based on experience and training progression.
Will I need to complete training with a driver trainer?
Yes. Drivers without flatbed experience will train with an experienced driver trainer for several weeks. The length of training depends on your experience and performance.

Drivers do not need to live near a terminal to apply. Our regional routes are designed to support drivers across our hiring area while still providing consistent miles and dependable home time.

Can I take my truck home?
Yes. Drivers may take their truck home if they live more than 50 miles from a terminal and have a safe place to park.
Do you use electronic logging devices (ELDs)?
Yes. All trucks are equipped with electronic logs.
How often are drivers paid?
Drivers are paid weekly via direct deposit or check.
Do you offer per diem pay?
Yes, per diem pay is available.
Do you offer a lease purchase program?
